St. Michael Independent/Pine School - Hobe Sound
An exclusive, co-educational independent day school of all faiths, founded in 1969 under the leadership of its founder, Mr. Harold Potsdam; St. Michael's Independent School was originally called The Pine School. The new campus will be known as The Pine School. Under either name the school has always stood for academic rigor, strong moral character and a commitment to excellence. Having exceeded the physical limits of their original campus which accommodated over 450 students, the new school will be situated on 23 acres, amid a 144-acre undisturbed natural expanse in Hobe Sound, Florida. With five new buildings, the campus buildings encompasses 110,276 sq. ft. and includes several classroom buildings, high-tech performing arts center, a black box theater, cafeteria, library, administrative offices, separate gymnasium building, environmental center, and athletic fields. Davco project scope consisted of the complete electrical service including the fire alarm system, site lighting, irrigation pumps and chiller yard with a 2000 amp 480 volt switchboard. The elementary school, which accommodates students from pre-school through fifth grade, on the downtown Stuart, Florida 11-acre campus, while the new site is being utilized as a campus for both high school and middle school students. The school features a college prep curriculum with disciplines from the classroom, athletic field and performing arts and will be completed in the fall of 2006. |
