On June 6, 2006, Davco Electric Contractors Corp., in conjunction with Balfour Beatty / Centex Construction, was awarded the contract to construct the addition to the Rybovich Yacht Service Marina. Rybovich has manufactured the world's finest luxury sport fishing yachts since 1929. Plans for the Rybovich space include a reconfigured service and refit yard, modernized boat building operations on the north end and two residential condominium buildings at the south end of the property. Davco's initial electrical project was for the new two story, multi-purpose Marine and Technology building. Which won the 2008 ABC Excellence in Construction Award. The electical installation included a state-of-the-art fire alarm system and the electrical system, consisting of four 4000 amp 480 volt switchboards to service the marina. Two 1200 amp 480 volt switchboards servicing the boatyard. One 2000 amp 120/208 volt and one 1000 amp 480 volt switchboards to service the Marine Technology and Maintenance building. Construction of two buildings, which will consist of 220 residential condominiums and 22 ground-floor, residential lofts. Rybovich said it is in discussions with WCI Communities about developing the residential component of the project. Initial plans also include a pedestrian boardwalk and promenade around the perimeter of the marina, expanded boat dockage to provide more deep-water access and a two-story restaurant with views of the island of Palm Beach and the Atlantic Ocean.
